KfW IPEX-Bank has participated in the financing for the DAH Group biogas platform. The overall financing totalling EUR 220 million has a term of seven years and is being provided by a consortium of five banks. It serves to flexibly finance the working capital required for the DAH Group's existing business and provides additional funds to finance its growth strategy.

The DAH Group plans to further expand biomethane production and also to make strategic acquisitions. Biomethane already plays an important role in achieving the EU's climate targets. The European Union's REPowerEU plan envisages the production of 35 billion cubic metres of biomethane per year by 2030. Biomethane can be fed directly into the gas grid as a substitute for fossil natural gas and used in industry, buildings and the transport sector.

The DAH Group is one of the larger companies in the German biogas market. DAH operates 23 biogas plants in eastern Germany and, in addition to its energy business, is also a major player in agriculture, which is an advantage when it comes to procuring raw materials.

With this financing, KfW IPEX-Bank is supporting the transformation to a sustainable energy business and contributing to the circular economy.
