KfW IPEX-Bank is providing JobRad Holding SE with financing in a double-digit million euro range. The German company based in Freiburg offers services in the field of bicycle mobility. The core of the business is the offer and sale of leasing services for bicycles and pedelecs to private and public employers who provide them to their employees.

Employees choose their bike from a certified specialist dealer. JobRad then purchases this bike from the specialist dealer and leases it to the employer, who gives it to its employees for professional and private use as part of a deferred compensation scheme. Companies that take advantage of this offer include small businesses as well as large DAX companies and, as of this year, also KfW Group.

The economic and social importance of leasing, sharing and renting bicycles has developed enormously over the past three years and will continue to grow according to industry studies. JobRad has been on the market for more than 15 years, works with more than 6,500 bicycle dealers and, as market leader, has put around 1.5 million bikes on the road to date.

‘The growing bicycle sector is an important factor in implementing a climate-friendly mobility transition,’ says Dr Velibor Marjanovic, Member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank. ‘We are delighted to have gained the JobRad Group, an innovative service provider for sustainable and flexible bicycle mobility, as a new customer and are happy to support it on its further growth path.’
