Financial Statements 2024: KfW IPEX-Bank reflects on another successful year

Green X on blue world map

Financial year 2024 was another excellent one for KfW IPEX-Bank – following directly on from a record year in 2023. New commitments of EUR 23.9 billion are convincing proof of this. EUR 22.4 billion of this figure relates to original lending business and EUR 1.5 billion to funds for bank refinancing under the CIRR programmes.

“In 2024, our global team delivered a seamless follow-up to our excellent achievement in financial year 2023,” says Belgin Rudack, KfW IPEX-Bank’s CEO. “Many domestic customers benefited from this performance by maintaining and expanding production capacity and opening up new sales markets, thereby securing jobs in Germany. In view of the current geopolitical challenges, this is a key task for our bank both now and in the future.”

The volume of lending by the Export and Project Finance business sector amounted to EUR 85.4 billion at year-end 2024 (previous year: EUR 78 billion). KfW IPEX-Bank remains a key source of income within KfW Group in the past financial year, with a contribution of EUR 611 million to KfW’s consolidated earnings.

Strengthening the German and European economies – worldwide

In a market environment that remains highly challenging, KfW IPEX-Bank made an impressive contribution to the German and European economies. It supported domestic companies with targeted financing for sustainable and future-oriented projects in order to develop innovative technologies and open up new markets. Financing for energy transition projects, digital infrastructure projects and technologies of the future was especially in demand during the past financial year. KfW IPEX-Bank made significant contributions to overcoming long-term global challenges and strengthening the domestic economy on a sustainable basis in a globally competitive environment.
