KfW IPEX-Bank is helping the Danish investor Obton A/S to expand its global solar portfolio and is financing the acquisition of altogether 51 photovoltaic systems. The systems - manufactured by the Korean PV producer Hanwha Q Cells - have a capacity of up to 1 MW each and a total installed capacity of 46 MW. The projects have already been completed and installed and benefit from a 15-year contract-for-difference (CfD) as per the public tender conducted in June 2017.

The purchase of the 51 PV systems as well as the related operation and maintenance measures fall under the project framework financed by KfW IPEX-Bank. The financing marks not only the first transaction between KfW IPEX-Bank and Obton A/S, but also KfW IPEX-Bank's first transaction in Poland's renewable energies market. This transaction is to be the first of several follow-up projects in the Polish market.

Through its involvement, KfW IPEX-Bank is supporting the energy transition - since no matter where in the world renewable energy usage is being expanded or measures to improve energy efficiency are being implemented, it is the global climate that benefits.
