Press Release from 2024-12-16 / KfW IPEX-Bank

KfW IPEX-Bank finances the decarbonisation of the energy supply in Finland

A banking club including KfW IPEX-Bank, Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (SEB) and Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB) is providing over EUR 100 million for Auris Energia. The company provides fuel and energy as a service, and it will use the financing for industrial electrification and the development of sustainable energy infrastructure in Finland. The financing also supports the expansion of the production of renewable gases and energy infrastructure projects supporting the deployment of renewable energy. In addition, the financing enables investments in new technologies that contribute to achieving Finland’s carbon neutrality goals.

Auris Energia is fully owned by the abrdn infrastructure fund, which has a long history of supporting European sustainability and infrastructure projects.

“We are glad to have won Auris Energia as a new client” says Andreas Ufer, member of the Management Board of KfW IPEX-Bank. “With our financing we support Finland's energy transition and underline our commitment for a decarbonised future.”

Infrastructure

In the infrastructure sector we support financings for digital infrastructure, charging infrastructure, energy infrastructure, air and sea ports as well as the construction industry, among others.
